A guest post by Minty.

One of things I love about the Village Art Shop is that it’s more than pure art… it’s the whole culture of creativity. And you can find wonderful treasures there, like the range of Djeco paper craft items. We grabbed the Dragons one to do with the kids during the school holidays.

They loved it. Our 7 year-old daughter needed a little help, but our 10 year-old son was completely happy putting things together on his own. The graphics, packaging and instruction design are beautiful, and the finished product looks great.

Here’s the sea-monster in front of my keyboard (click to see it bigger):

For around $20, they’re a great gift or artistic treat for youngsters.

My tips:

Make sure you pre-fold all the bits before putting things together.

Use a glue stick. This worked a treat- easy for the kids to apply, held well and dried quickly by holding the surfaces together tightly with your fingers. I think that a wet glue would take too long to dry, might wet the cardboard too much, and has potential for turning into a sticky mess if applied by zealous children. Glue sticks are the go.

We all had so much fun (Bek and myself included!) that we went back and grabbed the robots one!
